The members of Delta Sigma Phi are not only active on campus; they are also
active in the communities around them. Being the philanthropists that they are,
they generally participate in five to ten philanthropy and community service
events per academic year.
Detroit's "Paint the Town"
The brothers of Delta Sigma Phi teamed up with State
Farm Insurance Co. and local Detroiters to provide service to local homes in
need of help.
With a mission to help their neighbors, they performed small repairs and
painted many houses.
The event was a huge success!
UMD Food Drive
The members of Delta Sigma Phi joined forces
with eleven other student organizations on campus to help raise money and to
provide food for local shelters in the Dearborn/Detroit area.
All of the hard work among the organizations lead to providing enough food
to feed over one-hundred families.
Delta Sigma Phi was the only Greek organization on campus
to participate in the UMD Food Drive. Not only did they participate, they
sponsored an entire day of the event.
UMD MLK Day Community Service Project
Each year the brothers of Delta Sigma Phi volunteer
at the UMD MLK Day community service event.
The members provided service by helping out at a local elementary
school with the Jump Start program.
This year Delta Sigma Phi sent more volunteers than any other organization.
Tsunami Relief
Project and Luncheon
With all of the injured and starving victims of the Tsunami, it
was clear that they needed all of the help that they can get.
More than fifteen student organizations worked together to sell tickets
to the Tsunami Luncheon. In addition to the money raised from
tickets, many of people attending donated money.
The money raised was given to the Red Cross for Tsunami relief.
MSA Unity in Diversity Dinner
Cultural diversity plays a major role in the
Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. You will notice that the members of the
organization are from many different cultures and religions.
The members volunteered at the Muslim Student Association's "Unity in Diversity
Dinner" for the second year in a row. Delta Sigma Phi provided help with dinner
registrations, seating guests, and serving food.
The dinner fed over 800 people in the Dearborn community.
