Letter

Fellow Student of the University of Michigan Dearborn,

Let us start by congratulating you on your admission to the University of Michigan–Dearborn. You have just made one of the toughest decisions you will make in your young life, the choice of a good university. We are the rush chairmen of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity here on the UMD campus. In this letter we will inform you a little about our Fraternity, chapter, and social life here on campus.

Most people who go to college are expecting a true collegiate experience but fall short of it. As you have already seen at your orientation, UMD is not a very big campus. For a commuter campus, UMD has many leadership, academic, and social organizations that students can join. If you could find an organization that has all three aspects mentioned above, then why wouldn’t you join?

Delta Sigma Phi offers all of these things and then some. Let us take a few moments to give you some facts about our chapter here on campus. We are the reigning Greek Week Champions, TEN years in a row. We participate in every intramural sport that is offered at the University. We have one of the highest GPAs out of all the Greek organizations. Our members are among the most active students on campus serving and holding leadership positions in nearly twenty different organizations outside of Delta Sigma Phi including the Student Association of Michigan, Student Government, the Association for Computing Machinery, the Albanian-American Student Organization, and WUMD Campus Radio. If you work hard you can play hard too. As a Delt Sig, you will be invited to exclusive parties at other chapters all over the state. We throw the best parties around town. Our chapter has won countless awards on and off campus. Our most significant award is the Pyramid of Excellence. It is the highest award a Delta Sigma Phi chapter can receive. It is based on all areas of operation including academics, leadership, campus involvement, community service, philanthropy, membership recruitment, and risk management. We have over 40 active members to assist you with any majors offered at the University. If you ever need help in a class, someone CAN and WILL help you.

Now that you know all about us, please take a minute to consider these facts. All of the United States Presidents except for two are Fraternity men. Our Fraternity has been around since 1899, and is nationwide. There are over 100 chapters, and over 110,000 initiated brothers . Charles Walgreen was a Delt Sig, as well as many other famous actors, athletes, and CEO’s. If you want that college experience, a strong social life, good grades, diversity, athleticism, and brotherhood, then Delta Sigma Phi is the perfect organization to join.

Thank You,

Evan Belknap
